Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic who is also a popular public speaking event organizer. Feminist Frequency is a web site which hosts video and commentary on the representation of gender roles in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a journalist, media critic and a prestigious feminist for more than 10 years. Feminist Frequency, a web-based resource for education that examines women's role in the narratives of pop culture was the result of her research. The site also has the director of operations. Committed to destroying the stereotypes that are associated with women in pop culture, she has also been working with issues that relate to the harassing women targeted by the media and other classes of people on the internet. Sarkeesian who has an MA in the field of Social and Political Thinking from York University, is a popular public speakers. She has given speeches at TEDxWomen's XOXO Festival and the United Nations Broadband Working Group to Gender. While a student at university, Sarkeesian became concerned about issues related to gender identity and women's rights at an early stage. She had a plan to start an internet-based program that would examine the role of gender in games however, she was also the subject of a harassment campaign online. The attack did be a deterrent, but it was a boost to her determination as a feminist critic of media. Her many notable contributions in the field of feminist were recognized by a variety of prizes.
